TOPIC: Book "Storms of My Grandchildren" (The truth about the coming climate catastrophe and our last chance to save humanity) by Dr. James Hansen, the world's leading scientist on climate issues.
FACILITATOR: Erv Klaas
This urgent manifesto bucks conventional wisdom including the Kyoto Protocol, cap and trade, clean coal, etc. as solutions to stopping global warming. Hansen's climate predictions have come to pass again and again, beginning in the 1980's when he first warned Congress about global warming. This threat of human-caused climate change is now widely recognized, but politicians have failed to connect policy with the science, responding instead with ineffectual remedies dictated by special interests. There is still a little time to do what we need to save the planet, but urgent strong action is needed.
This book is available at Borders for $25.00. It can be purchased on amazon.com for $16.50 or less. Also, available at the library with one person on the waiting list.
