Request Your Absentee Ballot Today

July 6th is the 1st day you may request your Absentee Ballot .

Any registered voter may request that the form be mailed to you by clicking here- https://tinyurl.com/ybsnqece

Story County voters may print the form linked below, fill it out, and return it to the Story County Auditor. The address is on the form that you fold so it doesn't need an envelope. It’s postage-paid. It must be received in the Auditor’s Office by Oct. 23rd. Don’t delay mailing your request.

Absentee voting is safe, secure and convenient. Don't worry about social distancing, weather, or last-minute scheduling difficulties that might keep you from being able to vote in person on Election Day. When Democrats vote, Democrats win! If you cannot print the form, Story County residents can email storycountydemocrats@gmail.com with your name and address and we will get one for you.

Requirements to receive an absentee ballot:

You must be a registered voter. Not sure of your registration status? Check online at sos.iowa.gov

Requests must be in writing and include an original signature. You cannot request a ballot over the phone.

Lucy Martin, Story County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, encourages all voters to consider absentee voting via the postal system. “Absentee voting by mail has been widely utilized in Iowa for decades. It is a very safe and secure process. If you’ve never used it before, the time has never been better,” said Martin.
