Parade Prep for July 3rd Parades in Roland and Slater

  • Story County Democrats 415 Main Street Ames, IA, 50010 United States (map)

We are participating in2 parades Saturday and need volunteers. Parade start times are below but we need to meet earlier to set up. If you can't participate we hope you will be able to be an attendee and cheer us on as we pass!

ROLAND: Saturday July 3rd at 10 am
SLATER: Saturday July 3rd at 10 am

We will be meeting at our office between 8 and 8:45 am at 415 Main St in Ames to divvy up our supplies and volunteers. Dustin will go to Slater and Maddie will go to Roland. Please come to the office if you are able so we can plan who and how many people go to each town.

We will be in each town by a little after 9 am if you want to meet us there.

If you go to Slater, see the map in this link https://mailchi.mp/6b8b4251cae8/pints-postcards-central-committee-mtg-1177114 about where it is lining up, what the parade route is and and note you must fill out this google doc waiver. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfy1S0ezEB1wqMiEwuPsoD5ygPHqhc0Y4xunMhZIB0UnyC4sQ/viewform

In Roland, the parade starts on N. Main. That's all the information I have. Note that due to a road closure you should take I 35 to exit 125 to County Road E15(E18 is closed)

We don't have a number or position in the parades so if you come you'll have to give yourself enough time to park and find us by the time the parade starts.

All parade attendees are asked to bring your own water bottle. We will have signs, our banner and flags. We also have candy though if you can bring some and a bag or basket to carry it in, that is much appreciated. Don't forget a hat and sunscreen! We have some
aviator sunglasses like our President wears and you are encouraged to wear your own if you have them.

Children, leashed pets, strollers, bikes, wagons, roller skates, wheelchairs, skateboards or any other way you can move down the road are WELCOME!
